The problem is that as you get higher in OVR, training becomes exponentially more expensive. Training an 87 from level 1 to 2 costs less than 50,000 tp. Training a 97 from level 1 to 2 costs 750,000 tp.
As with you I realised that I had sufficiently good players but they were not trained up to max (nor close to it). But when I began focusing on training it became clear that it too was an expensive proposition, and has no "pay off" as you will never be able to sell that player again.
And with prices high in the auction house, it is difficult to get cards for training at a reasonable price. If prices begin to drop in the future as others have predicted, I will use that opportunity to max out my team. I also may pick up a few new ones as well.
I chase a player here and there as new promos come out. Meanwhile, good players that I have don't get trained because a new player at their position might come out and I want to be able to sell them. Some of the new 100 OVR players have stupid good stats, but getting them takes a lot of effort. I actually have a life, so dedicating all my time to chasing another new one every week or two just doesn't make sense. The OVR punishment system is stupid in my eyes, so screw it. I can do the best I can with what I have. Unless I get some better advice soon, I'm going to go all out on training the guys I have as far as I can and play with the players that I have and like.
Didn't really need ITP for Irving last year. He could dunk without it. I never got blocked or missed. This year might be different as a there are a lot more missed dunks. But, really, do you need ITP for Shaq?
I play the Dirk event every day in the hope that they are stashed in a graveyard somewhere and will rise from the dead to be worth something really good.
I quit turning in lvl tokens as all they are worth to me is for players to use for TP. Hoping something new will be offered.
Any good rumors floating around?
The feedback is not informative in a way that will make you have more success, or make you a better player. It's just a frill in my opinion. Window dressing. There is nothing to be gained from it.there I disagree.for example it helps understanding what counts as contested shot and what isn't a contested shot. That is relevant.
The problem for me isn’t the win vs lose rate. In fact, I would think winning as much as you indicate would be even more boring than my current 50/50 rate. A big part of the fun lies in the challenge of playing good matches and earning each win. My problem with showdown is the seasons are too long and it’s just become unsustainable to grind day in day out for two weeks at a time. Im sure EA is hitting their KPIs on all cylinders though, which is what really matters!
I've been losing more than usual the last 2 weeks. The difference I've noticed is that the shots I'm used to hitting aren't going in. Don't know if I'm missing my spots (my fault), or if I'm being nerfed. Also, when I advance a level I suddenly get higher OVR opponents for a while, causing me to lose ground. I just have to leave it for a while. Still, I'm losing to lower OVR teams cuz shooting % is down.
I don't agree with the OVR system anyway, but it's a matter of take it or leave it.
Filter ah for 90 ovr cards with start price between 200k to 300k. You will also see pg and shaq there so sorry about that but you can skip those if you want. This is how i get tp for cheap.
Why pay 2-3 times the price per tp just because you don't want PG or Shaq? I'm missing the distinction here.
It depends. I'm assuming you're aiming to get the Platinum 98 overall Kyrie? I heard it's gonna be extremely hard to get, and he's expensive on the AH, so if I were you I'd try to get the 98 Kyrie, and if you end up not getting him, I guess you could settle for the 93 version. If all else fails, you still have UL Billups as a backup option.
I've been gearing up to get Kyrie, but now Billups comes along. Stat comparison is tough as they seem to excel in different areas, but both excel. I'm less inclined to get a classic player for my NBA lineup, so I still lean toward Kyrie. How do y'all assess it?
I can see it to get the 86 SD player in the live events, but otherwise, I don't want all of those silver medallions and base gold players. I will never have time or cash for stamina to get into the top 1000, or whatever it takes to get the weekly player. If there was a way to get rid of those medallions, it would be different, but there isn't. Am I missing something? Advice and insight, please. The silver medallions are converted into gold medallions. Three gold medallions get you an elite SD token. 120 elite SD tokens get you a base Platinum SD card.

If EA can cancel individuals' accounts for buying coins, they can ban individuals for cheating in showdown or lvl. There is really no excuse for them not to. Glad 4katosh has made sure the right people get the word.
