  • posted a message on MVP Durant with 6 million coins?

After reading that some grinded for Durant at next to no cost I started considering grinding 91s or 95s to get Durant starting from scratch, but the math just doesn't add up if you are in AH3: 95s right now are close to 3M a piece, and 91s go for no less than 750-900k, BIN for both 91 and 95 at reasonable prices are practically non existent, so even if you could make some coinf from selling the 99's it would cost me more than 15Mi to get Durant. The prices btw haven't dropped much since the promo started, 87s are above 330k even now (that means more than 9M per Master, 36M in total)

I guess those who are in AH3 don't have a chance of getting him without having to spend a load of coin.

Unlike Simmons who's AI plays as a defensive stopper who only scores a bit, Curry's AI is offense focused and tries to score rather than get stops most of the time.

I don't agree, I sniped him for a some 4.8M and used in autoplay a few times, mostly against Simmons. Curry seems to never try a a 3 point shot and mostly goes for a pass or drives to the basket, mostly without success, he gets either blocked or loses the ball in the process. My other pg is Billups and once he can dunk past opponents, he is better defensively and oppoents seem to have a harder time against him.
When I play with Curry even a 91 OVR (I am 97) can outscore me, while with Billups against low OVR I mostly win the AI quarter or lose for less than 5 points.
Too bad that in manual, he is a 3p beast, from the key it goes in almost everytime.

Sorry dude...but I got curry today played like good 20 matches...only one occasion opponent scored +11 ...all other time they got outplayed or jus able to get +5 to 8....it's ntg abt AI ...its abt ovr ...when opponent is even +1 in ovr than you even 91 hill is hard to face...so jus stop the bs...
Talking abt AI taking 3 point shot....after the showdown changes ...I never seen any pg scores a 3 pointer even when they are wide open...only when shot clock force them...I don't know why...now a days AI is not taking 3 pointer often...I finished 450 in showdown last time...I have seen this all time.. rarely a pg takes 3 pointer...but after getting curry my winning is way easier...

I know it is all about OVR, I was even more disappointed because with Curry I raised the team to 97 and got worse scores than usual, he just doesn't cut it for me. In manual he is great, but once i'll get to play against higher OVR his 3 point shot will be too much of a risk  (when I play against better teams I avoid taking too many 3's, they won't go in)
Good to know that AI doesn't take 3p shots anymore, one more reason not to have Curry as a starter.

Search for Gold 79 OVR Steve Smith with search parameters of min bid 70k, max bid 90k. Then come back & tell me what you see. Also I just BIN sold a card for 86k but didn't screen shot it so....

Also, search for Paul George 90 Ovr. There are a hundred of them listed.

No Paul George in my AH (3), and sells of gold have dropped significantly.... that's what I see, doesn't mean it is the same for everyone...

That's what happens when you post about it on a public forum, EA staff can read this just as anybody else.

Also I noticed that harvest  Paul an Shaq flood is over since yesterday, they fixed that as well... Too bad I barely ever managed to get hold of those cheap cards

Howard is not supposed to hit 3's, jumpers or anything other than layups or dunks, his perks are defense, rebounds and blocks, and can run to the basket uncontested, no wonder he doesn't work for you.

To me he is still the best (I have him both in NBA and classic lineup), but If you want to use the C as a shooters that he is definitely not fit for purpose

  • posted a message on How good is 97 Billups?

I have him and played a few games with him: he is pretty good in offense and can get a fair amount of steals, even from Simmons sometimes but Kyrie seems to be immune.). Yet against Simmons he has a tougher time both in defense and in offense: he can get blocked if not open and it needs a lot of focus in defense.

I did block Whiteside with him once though (+7 block boost), so he can block from time to time. Against 93 Kyrie I had some difficulties, Kyrie is quick and manages to get open shots.

It seems that my showdown scores are a bit better now in AI since I have him though, I don't know if it easy to steal from, mine has also a +5 dribbling boost so maybe it helps.

Honestly I built him because I was a bit tired of using Simmons in the last 5 months (have the 87 card maxed out) who served only in defense and occasional dunks-jumpshot, in offense he is not reliable anymore, 3 point is a bet and other pg's are now faster, so fast breaks are more difficult (here Billups has the advantage), Simmons AI is still the best for a PG though ( I would say even better than 99 Magic).

All in all I gues that Kyrie is a bit better than him, but Billups is for sure value for money.

  • posted a message on Suggestion for classic SF

In the end I decided to train Pippen, he will reach 100 OVR and if anything , he will give a nice boost from the bench. It seems the better long term option since Hill is a 92 and training a 94 is way cheaper than training a platinum card.

Later on I will sell Hill still for a decent price and replace him when a viable option will become available - hopefully. Somehow I have the impression that classic SF has less good cards than any other position...

Concerning AI,  SF's have the weakest AI in game, King Lebron AI is all but harmless, Hill shoots 3's and not much more. In my experience only 92 Hayword and lately Horry with clutch 3's could bother me in classic.

Interesting, I have Hornacek too and I like Hill because he adds speed to the team in fast breaks because Hornacek is slow , albeit hte best shooter. Pippen can drive with power to the basket and defense is a bit better, but HIll is a better rebounder.

I will give another go at Pippen in the starting lineup and see

    Quote from returnofthetoby >>

I sold Hill as soon as I got Pippen.  Pippen is being trained, right now at level 3.

Hill was OK but really nothing special.  I use my SG (Hornicek) as my primary offensive weapon, and wanted Pippen's defense to boost that side of the ball, and his steal boost for the rest of the team.

Right now I have untrained UL Hill and untrained UL Pippen in my classic lineup.

Hill is doing very well for me and I prefer him over Pippen, but Pippen has a great +5 steral boost so it's fine on the bench.

However I would like to boost my OVR, so the questions is: should I train Hill up to 97 and keep him, or should I sell HIll or Pippen for a couple of MIL and get some other SF ( preferably run'n'gun, but not a must) ?

Is there any SF above 92OVR to recommend? budget would be around 2 MIL max....

That fade away post shot can be blocked if you're guarding with a tall defender. Got to time it perfectly though. I've blocked a few today. But it's annoying as well as the drop step animation in the post that v I've been getting slaughtered with

I actually realised something.. the ai does a lot of turnaround outside the paint after the update.. and u can be pretty successful in blocking that.
Then when the post shot does the up and under u think that it's a turnaround and go for the block and then the put it in..
Thought it was pretty smart of the programmers .. to make us move one way and then trick us..

I've noticed it in the paint, all of a sudden ai goes dreamshake on my players, maybe it is because I am facing 100+ OVR teams with Hakeem in the lineup, but I doubt it

This is by far the worst change of gameplay they made. What is the point grinding through the events, upgrading your team, etc if not using yout team in games? Playing 2lvl quarters a day? Playing season?

I really don't get it, the point of the game is to play with your team, not opening packs or do repetitive stuff all over again - we all do it for a reason - play games with a better team, not just for the sake of it.

Luckily I got Master Harden last week, for somebody new to the game getting 1000 wins will be almost unattainable. I cannot possibly think of one positive outcome from this change...

  • posted a message on How do you guys feel about training players?

Considering the rate that EA pushes out new players is not worthz to train anymore, also training 95+ cards needs so many training points that it drains your finances. the only training I consider is for non auctionable players (even though EA may decide to make them auctionable later on)

  • posted a message on There is only 1 problem with 96 Donovan Mitchell...

I got him because I was getting unsatisfied with Oladipo (untrained) and to me he is quite good although I don't play very often right now.

The biggest issue is that he is short (shorter than Oladipo) and that is a big handicap in this game: he can't block at all (Oladipo, Harden can once in a while) and he needs space in order to land midrangers or 3's - you cannot shoot in someone's face like with Lebron or something, he gets blocked a lot when trying to land a 3.

Drive is better than Oladipo and dunks much more often,  scoring with contact is a no go, but dribbling and speed of release seems better to me, and he steals A LOT.  All in all if you learn how to use it he can be pretty effective

Anyhow I guess that our reviews are also biased because he came out at the same time showdown rolled out and AI got twtiched for the worse, so I ought to go back to Oladipo for a while and see how things stand.

He will be sold when I get Harden tough, it is not going to be a long term relationship I guess
